Aldo Amoretti

Aldo Amoretti (Sanremo, 1965) graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and worked as an architect until 2005, receiving the following recognitions: the Silver Plaque at the Luigi Cosenza European Prize (1994, 2002, 2004); the AR+D International Emerging Architecture Award (Selected Project 2003; Honourable Mention 2006); and finalist in ArchDaily Building of the Year (2009). In 2005 he began working as an architectural photographer, collaborating with internationally renowned architects including Peter Zumthor, John Pawson, BIG Bjarke Ingels, Snøhetta, Auer Weber, and Josep Lluís Mateo, among others. His photographic work has received numerous awards, including Third Prize at the International Photography Awards (IPA) (2020), First Prize at the Architizer A+Awards (2017, 2019), and finalist at the Architectural Photography Awards (2018). His photography has been published in leading architecture magazines such as The Architectural Review, Casabella, Detail, and Abitare, and has been shown in international exhibitions at major institutions including the Venice Biennale, the Galerie d’Architecture in Paris, the National Museum of Architecture in Oslo, and the International Archifestival in Bari. He also pursues non profit social photography. Recent projects in this area include Binario Morto, shown at the Festival della Fotografia Etica OFF in Lodi, and Siamo tutti migranti.
